Dungeons and Dragons (2000)

How bad is it? It's a mess.
Should you see it? No. It's not an enjoyable mess.

A quarter century of nerdy boys creating their own storylines in their basements while playing the board game - and every one of them was better than the plot of this film: tyrant tries to overthrow empress, who's tougher than she looks. Jeremy Irons chews scenery, Thora Birch delivers lines seemingly incredulous that these are actually her lines and Marlon Wayans plays a cowardly thief that just fetches things for the hero (Justin Whalin, who can't act) - an unbelievably racist character. In the end, the aerial dragon fight is dull, so it built to a non-climax. The only likable thing in the film was an appearance by Tom Baker.
