Gymkata (1985)

How bad is it? It's the dumbest martial arts film (and yes, I'm including Steven Seagal and Rudy Ray Moore films)
Should you see it? Yes.

My favorite scene.
Gymnast Kurt Thomas was picked to become an action star and a film was made around his talents, which apparently are solely gymnastic. The plot is about a secret martial arts contest in mountains somewhere nondescript, where, if Thomas wins, the U.S. can install some secret espionage tracking device not adequately explained. The particular martial art they use is... gymkata, a blend of gymnastics and other gymnastics. How Thomas defeats people with his pommel horse skills has to be seen to be believed. In my favorite scene, he fights people using a bar in an alley that is exactly the same height, length, diameter and tensile strength as a gymnastics high bar, with no other obstructions poking out of the wall.
