Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)

How bad is it? I've never made it all the way through in one sitting.
Should you see it? I can't imagine why you would.
That's a young Pia Zadora on the right.

If the 1959 Santa movie wasn't bad enough...

This might've been meant as an allegory about the dangers of technology, but it's so stupid, I doubt the writer intended that. The Martians have no Santa of their own, so they send a bad robot to kidnap ours, bring him to mars and make him work in their toy factory; it's so mechanized that all he has to do is push buttons. Santa gets impersonated, plots a rebellion, wins the hearts of the Martians. The Martian kids stop watching too much TV, willingly eat their food pellets and go to sleep without needing their sleep spray. Santa returns to the North Pole in time for Christmas on Earth. Two oddities to mention: Pia Zadora appears as one of the Martian children and one of the reindeer is named Nixon.
